MEET SOME OF OUR APPRENTICES
Meet Ms. Sherrell R.
Sherrell is a single mom of 4 beautiful children who put her faith in her ability to learn a new trade and in Veteran Care Apprenticeship Programs. This was her last straw and she put all her eggs in our training program. She was nervous and questioned every step until she developed trust in our instructor team and program. Sherrell brought a mother hen personality to our academic classes and naturally kept everyone in line.
Veteran Care placed Sherrell with an employer partner who needed assistance in their electrical warehouse. She had it in tip top shape in less than 30 days. Her employer partner further developed her skills to include: ordering, wiring, stocking 30 trucks with supplies needed for each days jobs and making sure every job site had what they needed on a daily basis.
Her employer was so impressed with her that he hired her on full time. She received a $5 per hour raise, full benefits and an early Christmas Bonus! Go Sherrell!
Ms. Sherrell is currently studying to earn her Full Registered Apprenticeship as an Electrical Journeyman through our advanced certification program partner 327Careers.com
Meet Mr. Daniel G.
Daniel G. had struggled with finding a sustainable career for years due to previous incarceration and being a care-taker for his ailing wife. When he applied for his landscaping apprenticeship with Veteran Care he told his instructors that his age was also a factor in him having difficulty finding a career. Daniel is fit, intelligent and extremely talented with just about any landscaping tool. Our team worked with Daniel, further developed his skill set, worked with him on developing work essential skills that would give him a winning edge over other applicants.
Next, we matched him with one of our fabulous landscape business partners, whose owner just happens to believe in Second Chances. Not only has Daniel flourished in his new position, he has become irreplaceable and has been moved into a supervisory position. He is so grateful. When asked about his apprenticeship program and what for him wasone of his most memorable moments, he told us about the first time he had been able to tithe at his church. Daniel is a member of a fabulous local church who has supported him and his family over the years with uplifting messages and fellowship. He recounts giving his pastor an envelope filled with his first tithing. He was finally able to give back. Words really can’t describe the pride he felt when one is able to contribute like that. Daniel’s pastor says he is a changed man with a pep in his step and ready to take on the world!
Meet Mr. Eric B.
Eric B. didn’t want to be in a dead end job that couldn’t support him and his family, so he took his chances with Veteran Care. Eric has now completed his pre apprenticeship program and is working full time with his employer partner, Rob Zapata Electric. He is enrolled in our full apprenticeship program to earn his electrical journeyman certification.

It Really Does Take a Village to Make our Success Stories a Reality
• Without State and Federal assistance we have no programs…
• Without employer partners, there are no apprenticeships…
• Without our staff and trainers we have no structure / organization and
• Without local support we can only HELP so many…
The support our organization and apprentices have been receiving has been tremendous since we launched our mission and purpose in life back in 2018.
We look forward to our future expansion and growth and to many more success stories.
